Case of Battle of the Camel

After the 25th of January 2011 Revolution, the Egyptian people witnessed unfortunate events committed by anonymous people against the revolting demonstrators including murders, injuries and possession of weapons. It was rumored that figures of the former regime and people of the former President/ Hosni Mubarak- such as Dr. Ahmed Fatehi Srour, Counselor/ Mortada Mansour, Mr. Safwat El-Sherif and Mr. Sherif Wali among others- incited for that through conspiracy, and support of supplying money and weapons to murder demonstrators. Those events were known in different media as "the Camels Battle". The Public Prosecution accused those defendants and others of murder, public gathering, possession of weapons and ammunition. They, therefore, resorted to Dr. Mohamed Hamoda to face such accusations, due to his strong personality and standing by side of the innocent, even if the public opinion sees otherwise. Indeed, and throughout hearings of the case before the Criminal Court, he could challenge the evidence submitted by Public Prosecution. He gave pleas for many successive hearings, giving such strong, well-built legal pleas that carried many messages to the public opinion to the necessity of taking the side of the Right since the case is considered before the lofty Egyptian Judiciary that never fears public opinion and its trends. Dr. Mohamed Hamoda could obtain the acquittal ruling for all the accused from the charges against them. Although this ruling brought about a considerable public and media fuss, what really matters to Dr. Mohamed Hamoda in the first place was the evidence stated in documents, no matter what orientation of the public opinion in Egypt was. This enabled him to obtain final acquittals for all accused defendants in a case of abuse that is considered one of the most powerful and difficult cases that Dr. Mohamed Hamoda handled.
